I remember back in 2011/2012 a bunch of people said that about El Cortez. They bemoaned the fact El Cortez only had clad strikes, not even any blue caps. Fast forward to 2021, ten years later and were it not for issues that had nothing to do with the performance of the single old Strike Machine there, they got ten years out of a program without a single .999 fine strike released, out of a single 25¢ slot machine that had to have been 15 years old at least!
The reasons we are excited are:
• We collect silver strikes and there are new strikes to add to our collection
• We have a new Casino trying the program
• We know that the programs evolve and Sky City committing to three machines to start is very promising
• We know if the game shows enough initial success, more casinos will add the program
And... let's be totally honest here and I am saying this because I can say for a fact I know that you play pretty hard for those blue caps at the Four Queens. We have had many sessions playing next to each other and I've never had you pass a blue over to me in trade for clear. So let's take the little victory we achieved here, support Sky City and make constructive comments to let them know we appreciate it and let's see what they have in store.
There are lots of new ideas that are being discussed for future strikes between the Casinos, Dynasty gaming and Sunshine Mint. The investment made for them to continue the program they purchased from IGT requires lots of planning and nothing will happen as fast as we want. But it will happen... and that's why we are excited.
