Re: Who remembers way back in the day

Hay all, ok information on this set of 30 tokens. There are 15 silver color and 15 with gold plating. A google search only brings up this info. Company was around from 1898 to 1981. Took 2 years to sell of assets. I could not find any to the point info on these exact tokens. This is what I found. Lots more info but mainly nothing about the tokens/coins.

The International Silver Company (1898–1983, stopped making silver), also known as the ISC, was formed in Meriden, Connecticut as a corporation banding.

What do I know or feel. More feel is correct. I have been collecting the misc casino silver for a few years now. Countless hours in research in all of the tokens I come across weather I own then or not.

At a guess and only a guess as I do not know mintage. I can guess there are two for sure sets out there. This is one complete set. I know of another collector who has I think one but maybe a few more. The rest of the second set is split up all about here and there. Are there other complete sets, maybe and in the hands of ex employees or folks that bought them way back around 1980 era.

I have been told if you look way back in the archives of this board there is a thread all about these. I could not find it.

Shane, I love a jokester. You are so welcome to bring any sort of joke or what ever to any of my postings. I know someone is reading them that way. vbg

You asked why do I like and collect these. yes because they are silver (sterling). But mainly because they are casino related. Same as the 1.33 ounce sterling $5.00 tokens the Franklin Mint came out with in 1967. Yes, NOT from any actual casino but still casino related.

You also asked for a maybe value. The last 2 I saw sell on ebay sold for $50 plus and $70 plus. I would be more inclined to be around that average.

Below here you will see what I have also learned. The front design is copied after actual $100 casino chips from the 1970's.

I find it so much fun researching and collecting and if lucky getting any silver tokens I do not already own.
