I recently was able acquire the complete 50 coin collection of the
Franklin Mint issue of the "Gaming Tokens of World's Great Casinos"
which were released in two presentation boxes.
These tokens are in excellent new condition, each of the coins are
sterling silver (.925). Total weight of coins: approx. 32+ troy oz.
The complete set includes the "green" box of 25 coins and the rare,
hard to find "red" box of 25 coins. I have never seen the 2 box set
offered together anywhere. These boxed sets are over 40 years old .....
These sets were officially titled:
"The Official Gaming Coins of the World's Great Casinos".
Unusual and attractive sets that contains silver gaming tokens from famous
casinos around the world. Two series were issued.
The first in 1978 (green display case) and the second (red display case) in 1986.
Each set has different casinos. The "red set" is much rarer than the "green set"
due to a much smaller edition available.
Each token is redeemable at the casino of issue (assuming it still exists) for $25
or the approximate equivalent value in the currency of the country of the casino.
