Re: New Silver Strike from Coushatta

Give these new casinos some credit. They're new to silver strikes and are taking a chance to evaluate player/collector interest. Instead of knocking their programs, try giving them some support for getting involved at all. We cannot expand the hobby if we cannot get more casinos interested. From little acorns great oak trees can grow.

If the collectors out there just disparage these casino's silver strike program, then they will have little interest in the possible expansion into blue/red caps (the Route 66 did put out a blue cap) or other aspects of the silver strike program.

The company that owns the Silver Strike program right now is working hard to expand the program to other casinos, and deserves full credit and support from the collector community. Without their interest and involvement the hobby will collapse.

Keep in mind also the rising price of silver. It's not economical right now to issue silver center strikes, especially for smaller casinos who cannot absorb the extra costs. (I think we've all been spoiled by the great support and involvement we've gotten from the Four Queens.)
The price of silver is also making it harder to keep old and new collector interest as old silver center strikes are being melted down for their silver value and thus being taken off the market.

Stepping off the soapbox now!!
