Re: Aruba Mariott Silver Strike
In Response To: Bellagio Chinese New Year ()

The strike you are listing on ebay from the Aruba Marriott from the Stellaris Casino
in Palm Beach, Aruba was in fact the only strike they issued, but it is not by any means
a rare hard to find strike.

The Marriott Resort & opened it's doors in early 1995, and in late 1995, a Silver Strike
machine was placed on the casino floor and remained there until late 1999. Most mints
required a minimum order of strikes in the initial orders, usually 500 to 1000.
Once established with the mint, a lower number of new strikes could be ordered as limited
or SR (short run) editions.

The silver strike you are showing is common, with a current book value of $18 - $24. They
has been plenty up on ebay selling for $15 - $18.

I have, and have had several extra of strikes like you post from the Marriott, selling on the
average of $18 - $24 each. I also have "all" the silver strikes issued from the following in my
collection from all 4 Aruba casinos:

Aruba: Stellaris Casino At The Aruba Marriott Resort / Palm Beach, Aruba
1 strike issued
Aruba: Crystal Casino / Oranjestad, Aruba
2 strikes issued
Aruba: Royal Cabana / Eagle Beach, Aruba
3 strikes issued
Aruba: Cacino Masquerade / Palm Beach, Aruba
4 strikes issued

If you did in fact pay $250 for the strike you post, it would seem that you were given erroneous
information about the strike. Top dollar for sale or trade of the strike you show is max. of $24.00

Hope this information helps you .....
