Re: Treasurer Vote/your wife
In Response To: Re: Treasurer Vote/your wife ()

Walt,
I was only giving a little background on myself since alot
of the members do not know me, or anything about me.
I have only been a member for 1 year, and when the call
went out from Jeff that people were needed to fill positions,
I felt that with my wife's background in banking & finance,
and my experience also in owning a couple retail business
operations would be very helpful in the area of a Treasurer.
No business would hire someone to be treasurer of their
company without knowing about them and their background.
As far a being a disabled Veteran, I have no shame in my
military service in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam era,
for I joined and was not drafted. All I did was submit a sort
of resume of my background and qualifications for the office
of Treasurer so members could know a little about me and
my wife before making a decision on who to vote for. I got
involved, because Jeff had said that there was two positions
that needed to be filled, or the club could lose it's status, and
at first, nobody was stepping up to the plate to volunteer.
Being new to the club, I felt obligated to at least give a little
background on who I am since I was seeking the office of the
Treasurer, an important responsibility in any business be it a
large company or a small non-profit. I feel that I do have the
qualifications to hold the office in a responsible and efficient
manner.
Thank you for your input concerning my post ....
