ok I was asked this question

about mintage's. If there were 200 made why are some so hard to find. ?

A couple reasons for that. If it has a desirable design would be the first reason. But secondly and it does affect the mintage. The coin stores I have visited from Calif. to Colorado in my travels melt down casino tokens. $7 strikes up to the $200 strikes. I don't know if the $300 strikes have been turned in to coin stores quite yet. Some of the dealers I have visited say strikes are just bullion to them and have very few customers asking for them so not enough interest to have their money tied up. I consider I have gotten lucky a few times and was able to buy strikes at or just a tad over melt. That includes a couple $200 strikes.

Places to find strikes are all around us. Antique malls or shows, coin shops, coin shows, gun shows, street fairs, etc and the list goes on and on.

To me better than half to fun is in the hunt.
