George - You would like to see this $300 sell for more than the $500 buy it now, I am sure you can contact the seller and offer him or her more before the auction ends. At $500 it is over priced and I dought it will sell so you might be able to make a direct offer to the seller after the auction ends.
Just for your information the last one I saw for sale went for $375.00
