Well, yes and no. Silver buyers do not offer full melt value for silver strikes as they have to make a profit too. Also, some silver buyers will discount silver strikes further because the brass rings have to be removed before taking the silver centers to the refiners. Having said that, I've personally taken the brass rings off of literally hundreds of strikes and took them to a scrap metal yard for additional value (locally $1.70 a pound)
