Re: Sam's Town Blue Cap 1970 454 SS Blue Car

Walt & Scott - I have to agree with both of you on this. It may seem like $80 is a lot for a clad strike, but if any of us put $80 in either of those two strike machines today, what is the likelihood of us getting the blue cap - blue version? The muscle car series, when laid out with the two $200s, the red cap, and all the other clear cars is a great looking collection. Now add these two colorized (plus any old ones that may be added in the future) and it is probably one of the top "theme" sets out there. I'll be out at Sam's Town in a couple weeks and hope to win one, but I'm pretty sure it won't happen on my first $80 in the machine.

I think that series appeals to lots of tourists too. I've spent a lot of time at Sam's, see lots of people playing those machines and invariably they are keeping those strikes. So if only 500 of each are done, I don't think we are going to see a lot on ebay. Like Scott said - where the heck are all the Planet Hollywood Redcaps? There were 500 of each of those, and I can't remember if one even came up on ebay last year - anybody recall?
