Dear waltjj,

Hi Walt,
I just want to let you know that i have just started to list a lot more silver strikes, no auctions as of yet, all buy now style, all can have a best offer submitted. These strikes i know are 100% genuine, i have over 3,000 strikes that i will be listing, they were collected between 1996 and 2012, they will be listed starting from newest to oldest, then i will list $40 strikes and $7 strikes, i do have several 999 silver & brass strikes left that have been layered with silver, i have checked these and they are definitely genuine, they did come from the same supplier as the plated clad ones, but they are definitely legit.
An email has been sent to the supplier of the plated strikes, hoping for a quick response, there is a chance that he himself might not even know that the plated clad strikes are in fact not genuine, they were purchased for $8 each hoping they could be sold for more, sometimes they did but often they did not, we just wanted them gone so we could try and get back some of the outlay.
The supplier had said that the reason he was willing to let them go for $8 each was that he was unable to return them to the casino for $10 each as they had been defaced by plating them.
Anyway i am letting any interested parties know of this issue with the plated clad strikes, i am just glad that not all of them were sold before finding out, i have been a eager striker for a long time now and honestly would not like to see something like this happen to the hobby, i miss the days of going to Vegas and running from casino to casino looking for strike machines, playing for $200's and of late $300's, i have purchased many strikes from other collectors, i have sold many strikes to other collectors, i have met and chat with many strikers, and i really regret that this has happened and kick myself for not picking up on them being counterfeit, still when i look at them i can not see the difference.
I ask if you could post this to the SS BB.
