At the club meeting we had speakers from the Sunshine mint and a person envolved with slot machine design, it was stated that the Mirage had gaming approval for 2 Clad $10's and a $300 and those would be in production soon they are also looking to have two other clads approved by gaming, nothing was said about a Red Cap. The Circus Circus is waiting to see how well the program at the Mirage works. Nothing was said about the El Cortez.
It was also stated that there are only 9 strike machines on hand to be put in play at casinos who want a stike machine and the speakers also said at this point it would cost to much to built more machines but they hope this will change.
Shan Webster also told me if the casino's who start a new stike program don't offer a Red Cap Program their progam might not do very well and might lead to those casin's dropping the strike machine again.
So it would seem if the collectors and others don't play the new machines as they come on to the floor of a casino the strike program might stay as it is with just 3 casino's having machines.
One other thing to note, Sunshine Mint now has all the rights to the Strike Program, IGT has nothing to say about the program anymore, was also stated that IGT had smashed all Strike Machines that were returned to them.
