True, but everytime an upside down airplane postage stamp or an 1804 silver dollar comes on the market for sale ... there is usally a buyer for it. Of course, once you have one of the $300 one-pounders for yourself ... you're not in the market for one anymore ... but there is probably somone else who will be.

Hi Archie

I think we can safely say there are a number of strikers who are collectors of one pound strikes. So we know there will be some demand for them regardless whether they are $300 or $400 strikes. We also know there aren't too many one pounders made, usually between 150 and 200. So I don't think the Casinos will have a hard time getting rid of them. I was more wondering about the secondary market prices and how they will hold up. If I had been in Vegas for the release of the $300, I would have been happy to trade 30 tens for the strike. But I'm not sure what I would want to pay for the strike. It's not $450, that I know for sure. Could it be $400 ... probably not now. I'm not try to say anything bad about the strike because I like it, but at $400+ it competes price wise with a bunch of $200 strikes I like better.

It's not really like the upside down airplane stamp, that is an extreme rarity in a market of tens of thousands of collectors. I don't think we have that kind of market for silver strikes. Now, maybe my TI $200 that has the Siren coin aligned on both sides of the $200 instead of having the TI logo would qualify as a rarity.... Oh, sorry just dreaming rofl
