No New(s)

Quiet month for strikes in Las Vegas. The bad news is that Anchor's strike person, club member Donna Killman, was hospitalized for two weeks with a burst appendix and the problems that creates for its victims. The good news is that Donna is okay now and back to light duty at work. Needless to say, not much new is happening. The Caesars $40 and $200 won't be in for a while because of problems in the systems in the new machines. These are the machines like those at the Aladdin, which have been plagued with problems since they were installed. After the bugs finally get worked out, the modifications in the hardware and software must be approved by Gaming before the machines can go into play. Apparently this is holding up the ESPN Zone strikes at NYNY as well. So, don't look for a lot of Las Vegas strikes on the approval list this month.

On the bright side (?), Valerie Walker has some Flamingo Laughlin new issues up on ebay, so they are probably in play. Since I'll be in Vegas from 7-28 through 8-1 with nothing to play for, maybe I'll take the cool drive to Laughlin for some excitement.
