Talk about overated! The Circus Circus error is a great example of what everyone is talking about with respect to price guides. Seems like every collector has a Circus Circus error and Marv's priceguide is only a reflection of the price it is trading for-and has been trading for for years. The price is a result of what I call a self-fulfilling prophecy. If it is in print at $450, the unknowing think it is worth $450 and it becomes priced everywhere at $450.

A better example is the Gold Coast small font GDC Royal Flush that many dealers are pricing at $230. Ask Marv-it is a typo. But you can't buy it for $30 which is what he meant to price it.

As far as the Plaza two-fer, I'm afraid the activities of the dealers' shill players has forever tainted the attitude towards this strike. Secondly, it is a more recent strike so more people got it first time around. But not so for NYNY Key to the City which is actually harder to find on the sale table.

Finally, maybe people just trust certain people more than others. Ralph Bjornson is a friend who has an excellent reputation for fairness. I would buy from him anytime. Notice that his post responds in a very gentlemanly fashion to an unwarranted attack.
