Re: $200 PALMS GOLD CROWN
In Response To: Re: $200 PALMS GOLD CROWN ()

If I memory serves me correctly,
Casinos must mint 150 $200 per artwork,I believe this has to do with cost of artwork, gaming approval and minting. 150 are minted, one goes to the casino and one goes to Nevada gaming for approval which leaves 148 for collectors. The Palms ordered their Statue of Liberty and only 125 in the first order were delivered. When Craig ordered the last of the 25 he asked to have the extra gold added and since only 25 were left to filled the order it was done. Similar situation happened with the Cuda but there were about 75 of the Cuda's minted with the stripe.
Yes you can have gold added to coins but it is expensive unless you have a large order.
There were some members who had gold added to the tournament token from the Vegas Club, I believe the total was around 75 tokens and the cost was somewhere around $75 each.
With the cost of gold being so high these days it probably would be very expensive to do and not too many places will want to consider working on so few tokens.
The casinos gave up adding gold to the $200 because the expense just kept increasing with both the cost of silver and gold.
