I am just back from Las Vegas and met with an "expert/author" on silver strikes. He told me that the Gold Spike "errors" are not errors but strikes that have had the centers removed and replaced at different angles back into the strikes. He said that this didn't happen at the strike factory......also look for a "mark" on the altered strike and you can see where the center was punched out.....I am passing on this information because I am a collector too and like to share information with other collectors....thanks
