You will get 88% of the actual value of the silver after refining fees for "unrecognized" silver. Strikes will fall into the "unrecognized" catagory for melt value. This is assuming you have more than a few ounces and you deal with one of the top refiners. To answer the question "when does a batch of 1000 common strikes become worth more to melt than to say turn in for the face value?" The answer is $19.00 price of silver and that includes postage/insuran@e to mail them to the refiner.
