Jim - what you read on Art's BB is exactly what I experienced when we were there on the 30th -- I'm the "associate" mentioned in his posting.

This occurred at the main casino cage (where I would have expected NO problems). The cashier requested my players card and said he couldn't cash my strikes as my play didn't prove I won the strikes. In response to comments made by others in this thread, NONE of the strikes were older, ALL of the strikes were won during the previous hour or so. The machines played did not always accept the card (which I'm sure surprises none of you). As you can imagine, this didn't even involve very many strikes since a guy can only win so many in an hour -- it's not like they're always dropping out of the machine.

The cage supervisor was called in (from lunch I may add) and she confirmed what the cashier said, that they could not cash the strikes. We pointed out that many players don't even have slot club cards, the machines don't always accept them, and there was no requirement to use them. She replied that they had some "internal control problems" they needed to work out.

At this point a floor supervisor was called in and he mentioned that without proof of sufficient play, they could not be certain the strikes were not stolen. Interestingly, security was never called, yet if there was any possible suspicion that the strikes were obtained in any manner other than directly from their machines, you would think they would have been the first people to appear at the cage.

It was an idiotic situation, all in the efforts to add some strikes to my collection. Then, to add to my enjoyment of collecting, I return to find Norman Clem calling the report "bull defecation". It's this type of comment that makes this one of VERY few postings I have ever made on this board.

The story has been correctly reported by Art Becker. I hope none of you run into this type of situation.
